Hello, I am the owner of two, self-catering chalets, situated on the beautiful Rainbows End Chalet Park. They have been named ‘Amanecer’ and ‘Atardecer’ (‘Dawn’ and ‘Dusk’ in Spanish). The Park itself adjoins the seaside, in Bacton, North-East Norfolk. It is an ideal base for anyone wanting peace and tranquility, as well as being in a great location, with regards to accessing all the attractions that Norfolk has to offer. As a rough guide, Bacton is midway between Cromer and Great Yarmouth.
Norfolk has some fabulous, sandy beaches. Walk to the end of the park,(this is approximately 100 yards from either of my chalets), and you will find yourself at the top of the sea wall, where you can see sandy beaches stretching for miles to your left and right (as long as the tide is out). While these beaches are open to the public, they are usually deserted, even during the summer months. Depending on the weather and the time of the year, you may even spot a seal or two out at sea.
Once at the seafront you can walk to Cromer to your left (though I have never tried it, must be about 10 miles!), and to Walcott to the right (about a mile). This is the quickest route, by foot, to get to the local PostOffice/Spar, the Poachers Pocket (Public House and Restaurant), and the Kingfisher Cafe and Fish & Chip Shop. If you like a ‘Full English’ breakfast then the Kinfisher Cafe is definately worth a visit. The Post Office/Spar is about 50 yards further on. While it isn’t a supermarket as such, they do sell milk, bread etc.. as well as newspapers.
If you have any questions whatsoever, you can contact me, the owner, via the contact page, or just via email. I will do my best to answer any questions that you may have.
Browse the site for further information, and numerous photos of the inside of the chalets, so you will have a good idea of exactly what is on offer.
Ian Drew (Owner of ‘Amanecer’ and ‘Atardecer’, Rainbows End Park, Bacton).
